10 Safari Shortcuts

Since we started with quick site access in Safari yesterday, I thought today is a good day to continue following the same line. How? Obviously, by providing you with a list of keyboard shortcuts that may prove useful in many situations, helping you to spare even more time!

Safari browser

Okie-dokie, so let's see where should we start. Looking up, we see the address bar...so we'll start from there.

1. To highlight the text in the address bar, simply press Ctrl+L. That should help you avoid clicking there first. Once you have done that, you can copy and paste the current link in an instant, or type a new address(Alt+D has the same effect).

2. When it comes to tabbed browsing, Ctrl+T allows you to open a new tab.

3. If you want to close a tab, use Ctrl+W to accomplish this task.

4. To bring up the Downloads window, press Ctrl+Alt+L.

5. If you want to adjust text size, use Ctrl++ or Ctrl+-, as we all do in most browsers...

6. To move between open tabs, use Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab.

7. To check the items loaded by each site you are navigating, you can use the Activity window, accessible via the Ctrl+Alt+A shortcut.

8. To find text in a page, you should use the good old Ctrl+F shortcut.

9. If you want to use the Search Bar, simply press Ctrl+K. Easier than clicking and then moving to the keyboard to type again, don't you think?

10. To save the current page, use the notorious Ctrl+S shortcut, but beware that Safari can only save as HTML, so no MHT archives here!

This is it, I hope you will find the above useful, but feel free to let me know what I missed, because I am sure there are plenty of Safari keyboard shortcuts left...
