During this time of the year, a lot of people that I know end up searching for funny videos on the Internet, and having an add-on for your browser able to make this search easier is something everyone would appreciate. The best part is that such tools exist, and today I am going to tell you about one released less than a day ago, called Search Plus for Video...
A software product of seminformatics.com, Search Plus for Video is an add-on for Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer that allows you to easily view YouTube video results in Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft Live Search, and Ask.com. The plugin and the service offered by seminformatics.com are completely free, and the platforms supported include Mac OS X, Linux and Windows for Firefox 2, while the Internet Explorer versions supported are 6 and 7.
Search Plus for Video is currently available only in English, but to use it you only have to go to the
official page, install the plugin, restart your browser and start using your favorite search engine!
At last, you should know that Search Plus for Video is based on your search query and a relevant match with the video search provider, so in some cases you may not get any video results. Please, feel free to share your optinion about this piece of code with us, so we can find out how this interesting add-on improved your browsing experience!

On the 17th of January, a Trojan horse identified as Small.dam, but widely known as "Storm Worm", was discovered. Back in January, Storm Worm infected an impressive number of computers, but now things are calm. Well, they seemed to be calm, because Storm Worm's authors(or so it seems) created a new version of this wicked piece of code, just in time for Christmas...
If your Windows operating system is up to date, you shouldn't worry about the old Storm Worm, but if you have this new version...well, you should laugh at your trouble and enjoy the ride! I am not drunk, I am simply saying that, fortunately, the reloaded version of Storm Worm is not a serious threat to your data's security.
In fact, while the original Storm Worm was sending emails with various subjects, such as "U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has kicked German Chancellor Angela Merkel", "Naked teens attack home director" or "Saddam Hussein safe and sound!", the "Christmas Edition" will also send emails, but with subjects that match perfectly this time period, like "I love this Carol!", "Merry Christmas To All", "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells" or "Santa Said, HO HO HO".
Now, I have no idea what Santa thinks about this Christmas virus, but I am sure he wouldn't bring such a thing to any kid...or maybe only the naughty ones! Well, the good part is that all you have to do to avoid this virus is to be really careful with your email, and if you want to know more about this unwanted Christmas visitor, more information can be found on
this page.
Just one more thing...with or without the Storm Worm, have a Merry Christmas!

The ability to set a
Master Password in Firefox allows you to leave other people use your computer and Mozilla's browser without any worries. When a site having a saved password is loaded, the
Master Password is required. This way, you can save countless different passwords in Firefox, and remember only one, the
Master Password. Today, I am going to show you how to enable and set this password...
- Open up Firefox, go to the
Tools menu, and choose
Options.
- Open the
Security tab, and check
Use a master password.
- In the window that opens, type the new password in the required fields.
- Press
OK to apply changes.
As a hint, keep you eyes on the
Password quality meter. The longer the green bar is, the better your password. My advice is to try using at least 3 different groups of letters and numbers in your password, and avoid names, places, or dates that have a meaning to you. To change the
Master Password, simply go through the steps above once more...

Some time ago, I have shown you how to
disable UAC in Vista and make your life much easier. In the meantime, I found out that some Vista users that timed the boot time of their systems before and after doing this managed to notice a small increase of the wait required to get your computer up and running. Fortunately, a fix for this problem has been found too, so here you have it...
- Press the
Windows key+R to show the
Run menu, and then type in "
regedit", followed by the
Enter key, to start the
Registry Editor.
- Navigate your registry until you get to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet
\Services\luafv.
- Change the value of the "
start" string to
4.
- Close the
Registry Editor, reboot and see if there's a noticeable improvement. If not, you may want to grab a timer...
As it happens usually with such changes, I advise you to be careful when editing your Registry, and always do a backup first. At last, if you want to switch back to old changes, simply edit the registry value "start" and bring it back to the initial value (it was 2, in my case). Good luck!

I know the title of this article may lead you into the mistake of thinking that I am trying to advertise this game called "Wingnuts 2", because I am not. In fact, I just found out about a Christmas giveaway that doesn't involve any purchase from you, only sending out an email and asking nicely to get your present. Sounds interesting enough?
Produced by Freeverse, Wingnuts 2 is an award winning arcade game for the Mac OS X that features over 100 real world planes and helicopters, which can be used along your journey through "over 30 locations and time periods". You goal? To hunt down Baron Von Schtopwatch and a mysterious character known as "Raina".
System requirements aren't extremely high, since Wingnuts 2 can run on any computer having at least a G4 processor 800MHz or faster, 32MB of video memory, 512MB of main memory, 950MB of free disk space, and Mac OS X 10.4 or later. Priced at $29.95, this game is available for free until the 26th of December, but with a condition...
...that condition being to send an email to
Gift@freeverse.com, describing the best gift you ever gave, and you should receive a download link and a registration code just in time for Christmas.
These being said, there's only one thing left: Merry Christmas to you all!
