On October 09, 2009, seller Igor Zhadanov released, under the Readdle umbrella, "Scanner Pro", useful application for anyone who needs to retrieve files on the go. You can find "Scanner Pro" on App Store under the Business category with the current uploaded version, 1.0, for $6.99 price tag (it doesn't come cheap, but keep in mind that this application is new and will deliver the latest possible programming making the whole process much more nicer).

"Scanner Pro" is compatible with both second and third generations operating system for the iPhone mobile platform. This application is developed for your iPhone, since it needs a camera. Even more, it would be wise for you to only buy this application if you own an iPhone 3GS, because it sports a better camera with auto focus, in comparison with the iPhone 3G. "Scanner Pro" will allow you to scan multipage documents.

Once you have done that, you can easily email them or just upload them (in case you have a Mobile Me account) on the Mobile Me iDisk. These scanned documents can easily be transferred to another iPhone, or a computer and can be coverted into Word documents. Therefore, the usability of this application is high, since there are so many people who work on the go, for example layers which get some papers on the court, or building engineers and architects which depend on the blue prints (if the building engineer must clear something first with the architect, he or she must just scan the blue print and send it through email with its questions). The idea, from which the "Scanner Pro" was developed, is that you have to control every aspect of your work. You can't control your works if you can't get a hold of one document. "Scanner Pro" also includes several features that will improve the users experience. However, I found a main disadvantage also.

Therefore as key features, you get the enabled multiple documents scan function, the scanned documents are stored on your iPhone as PDF documents, protect all the documents scanned with password (to make sure your work is safe), easily transfer files from your iPhone to your computer using either the cable connection, or the Wi-Fi connection, and also as a key feature is the enabling of the email function. You don't need to worry about the PDF saved file format. You don't need another PDF application to view the scanned documents, because "Scanner Pro" already includes the PDF view function.

For anyone who need a triple save possibility the upload of the scanned documents on a server will be a real nice feature. As a main drawback, is that you are not able to edit the scanned documents, making the on the go feature a little limited, since you can't edit a document before emailing it. Overall, the "Scanner Pro" does its job pretty well (if you own an iPhone 3GS) and also adds to the features a PDF viewing application. However, for $6.99 it is a subjective decision if you should buy this application or not.
