Absolute Uninstaller 2.3 Review

icon55.pngNo matter how much I hate cleaning up my house, removing junk from my computer will always be a cleaning job that I enjoy. Even more, system cleaning and maintenance software is one of my favorites, but today we'll talk about an application that doesn't claim to tweak, clean and help you troubleshoot your computer the way suites like System Mechanic do. Today, the time has come for another uninstaller, and its name is Absolute Uninstaller.

Setup

Absolute Uninstaller is a product that I came across for the first time today, but it's not that new, after all. Its current version is 2.3, and the trial can be used for as long as 30 days without any limitation. The only difference between the registered version and the trial is, apart from the 30 days limit, the nag screen that appears each time you start the trial.

Setup - First Shot Setup - Second Shot Setup - Ready For Launch

Of course that before starting Absolute Uninstaller, you have to download and install it, but you don't have to worry about this part. The setup package has almost 2.5MB in size, and the installation was really quick and without any special problems to take care of.

Interface

Interface - Main WindowAbsolute Uninstaller has a well organized interface, without any useless elements, that can also be slightly customized to take out what you don't need and use all the space available to view the list of programs installed in your system. While the main window is used to view this list and uninstall programs or change their properties, there are also some useful cleaning tools located in the Tools menu, but that's something we need to talk about in the next part of the article already, so let's move on...

Features

If you're already bored by these uninstallers I got here so far, this time I found a really interesting feature in Absolute Uninstaller. If you didn't figure out that yet, I have to tell you that I'm talking about the Batch Uninstall feature. So, what's so special about this feature?

While most uninstallers allow you to select more than one programs to uninstall at a time, when you launch the uninstall process, all uninstallers are simultaneously executed, and this leads to errors, in most cases. This time, the programs you have selected are uninstalled one by one, minimizing the chances to get errors (although I still got an error that made me uninstall a program manually, launching its uninstall program from its data folder).

Features - The Edit Menu and Command Line

Features - The Startup Manager

Features -The Registry Cleaner

The tools I mentioned above are the following: Registry Cleaner, Disk Cleaner, Startup and Process Manager. Each of them opens a new window, and apart from the Disk Cleaner, which is pretty basic, the rest of these tools are well done and very useful. I know that some people may consider them just a way to inflate the price of the program, but I think these tools add more to the power of the program and increase its features per buck ratio.

The Good

Absolute Uninstaller is lightning fast, well featured and extremely easy to use. While its trial version is fully functional for 30 days, the price required for the registration of this software is also pretty good.

The Bad

I expected the Help system to be more detailed, and have some screenshots included, to make things easier to understand by absolute beginners.

Conclusion

Absolute Uninstaller was a pleasant surprise for me, and I only hope to see it getting better and better in the future. Since everything seems to be great, apart from the Help system, I think you should hit the download link below and give this program a try as soon as possible!
