Version 4.0 comes with two new editions and several key features including Desktop Edition to enable unlimited optimizations of local VMs; Network Edition for enabling unlimited optimizations of VMs located anywhere across the LAN or WAN, and the ability to automate and schedule jobs to optimize entire repositories in batch mode; improved optimization processes which besides delivering up to 80% reductions in VM size increases the optimization speed 10 times more.
David Bieneman, founder and CEO of Vizioncore declared that “Virtualisation makes it so much easier to provision new servers, but from a networking and storage perspective, this can lead to a whole new set of demands as the number and size of virtual machines increases.”
He added that “Our vOptimizer utility allows organizations to create much leaner virtual machines which in turn makes them far easier to distribute, reduces virtual infrastructure storage demands, and increases their operating performance.”
According to Trond Brande, a Microsoft Regional Director with Objectware, "The new enterprise capabilities of vOptimizer are extremely powerful. Using the new scheduler I can now setup overnight jobs to optimize VMs located locally or around the network, and wake up to a repository of freshly optimized virtual machine images. It’s a very innovative tool and a great time saver.”
