OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer and the phrase "OEM software" refers to that software that is sold under licence to computer producers or computer seller in order to allow them to pre-install the respective software on the computer they are about to sell as a bundle. This OEM software is purchased by the computer manufacturer or seller directly from the software producer or from its distributors.

By doing this, those who sell the bundled computers with pre-installed software get a serious discount, as they buy large numbers of licences - of course the number of licenses has to correspond directly to the numbers of systems they sell. This way all parties win: the software producer gets to sell its product 's licenses, even if for a smaller price that if they had waited for the end user to purchase the license for every computer, but it saves a lot of time and the costs are recovered because they sell big quantities.
The OEM software can only be purchased by authorized computer sellers that assemble computer systems as bundles and it must be installed only by the purchaser. The end user will only use the software that was already installed on the computer when they bought it. The end user can't purchase OEM software, but only use it. However, if the end user wants to replace the existing pre-installed software with some other version of the software, they can do it only if they replace it with another licenced software. But I am afraid in this case they will lose the right to the assistance and support offered by the computer seller.
But why would they bother buying and installing OEM software on the computers that are about to be sold in the first place?Well, first of all every software application that is installed on every computer must consider its technical details and see if the software is compatible with the computer features, because this isn't always possible. It is the responsibility of the person installing to software to take care of this part.
And if you want things to be perfect the guy doing this must be a professional, because otherwise you can do harm to your computer. Then it is about installing the operating system and all the software of all the computer components and all the necessary drivers that must be installed by someone who knows what is doing there. But this is also a marketing tool because the client has the possibility to see what the computer is like, the way it works even before purchasing it. Besides, the buyer can use the computer right out of the box, without the trouble of installing all the necessary stuff. As a bonus, they will also get assistance and support in case something happens.
The only problem is that the end-users must buy the configuration that is already made by the producer. and use it like this. But I don't consider it an inconvenient, as they usually make the best possible combinations, as they are professionals. The OEM software that is pre-installed is also guaranteed and you know for sure it is not a free trial that will end in a few days and you are also spared the trouble and expense of purchasing a new software license that is expensive and needs to be installed. Just make sure you get the genuine software and not some fake pirated version.
