You are absolutely right with that, but I guess "Pingdom" should say it all - they are only about pinging some servers, and nothing more! :)

...regarding Ubuntu, they also didn't take into account the fact that, when the main server is down, many mirrors are working like a charm. Even more, with Ubuntu, you can get updates from the closest server to your location - think about updating at 50Mbps!(I did that!)

Just because its up doesn't mean you get your update. Many a time I have had to go the though the long process of updating only to have it fail, About 29% of the time I had to start all over again with Microsoft. I have never had Apple Software update fail.

Blimey, the Second Life property market's about to crumble aswell as ours is right now!

I think there's going to be a lot more coming out of the Google Secon.... I mean lively then Second Life could ever offer. Just being able to virtually see what your mates are up to, in a browser will have such an effect on Social networking (http://www.thoughtden.co.uk/blog/2008/07/10/google-welcome-lively-com/)

I suppose it's time to sell up your Lyndan Dollars and start a ranch on Google!

This was really entertaining. More entertaining was the video to accompany it. I did not know that's what it was from.

A System Auditer can be very helpful for diagnosing PC problems. WinDiagnostic provides PC agents that continuously monitor both the Windows Registry and all file systems for any changes--and this product will document any and all windows and program installations or changes.

Hi! I had a simmilar problem and i formatted my drive and reinstalled VISTA but i can not see my Wireless adapter in the Device Manager and if i view device by the type (hidden device) then i get to see the isatap with the curly brakcets and an address the way it is mentioned up there! If i right click on isatap and get to see the properties it says the device is working properly and gives me a location unknown. i have tried to reinstall the drivers for my wireless but i feel like it is dead for some reason have not had a wireless device to check it with but the amber light on the compaq F572US that would change to blue is amber regardless.
