Computer Animation

If you love art but especially the cartoon and other drawings I am sure that you will find the computer animation fascinating. At first the animations were done in 2D and only recently they have been made in 3D, which proved to be an excellent idea. The truth is that 2D and 3D animations go hand in hand as the 3D animations would have never been so popular without the success of the 2D animations. Even the process of creating the 3D animation depends on the 2D one.

If you own a computer, then it is most likely that you have been in contact with some sort of animation, because you see, animation is not just about the cartoons. Any moving image which has been done with the aid of the computer is considered an animation. An animation occurs when many images are quickly replaced. These images are almost similar but not quite. Each new image brings a change when compared to the former and when the switch happens at high speeds all you see is the animation. The same happens with the movies, as they use the computer generated imagery to accomplish this.

The computer animation is very similar to the regular animation, but it brings various benefits. One of the most important benefits is the fact that the preparation can be done much faster in the case of the computer animation and also that the stop motion technique is duplicated when the computer is used. The computer animation represents a systematic process. The first step of each animation is to build the object which you want to be the protagonist of the animation. Once you have that the computer will perform an action which is called morphing and sometimes tweening in order to create the major movements as the ones for the eyes or for the mouth and eyes.

The same fundamentals and basic of animations which are used for the 2D animations are used in the case of the 3D ones, but with a slight difference, and that being the fact that the modeling is completed prior to the rendering. You might consider the 3D animations to be very easy because the computer does most of the job, but you should know that the computer would not be able to do its job without the work of a 3D animator. A 3D animator must have skills in various domains such as computer skills, artistic skills, and he should also know the program by heart.

If you would like to become a 3D animator you should know that you must practice a lot, in order to become an expert in the domain. In fact, this can be said about all the domains, not just about this one.
