On September 17, 2009, seller Ryan McCormack released "Folders - Private File Storage and Viewing". You can find this application on App Store, in the Business category. The current version is 2.1 and is listed at a price list of $1.99. "Folders - Private File Storage and Viewing" is compatible with iPod touch and iPhone running both second and third operating system for iPhone platform. This application will offer full safety. Just store on your iPod touch and iPhone, form your computer or MacBook any kind of data (either personal data, including photos and videos or maybe professional data, Office files, Word, Power Point, Excel and even PDF) and the application will protect them after organizing them in a database.
We all know in terms of private safety; the iPhone operating system doesn't do much. You can either restrict the access to some applications (explicit ranked by App Store, not photos or videos) or just block all the phone (which is really frustrating when you your phone a lot - every time you have to insert the password just to make a phone call, or read an email). With "Folders - Private File Storage and Viewing" your data is password protected but it will not restrict the phone use. You can even hide the folder that contains your data.

The transferring process is as easy as it gets. Just connect you iPhone or iPod touch to your computer or MacBook. The application will accept even transfers via Wi-Fi (not recommended, because Wi-Fi connections are the most unsecure internet connections out there). You can also store in Folders data from web, from camera roll, and even photo library. You can even transfer archived data on your iPhone, because "Folders - Private File Storage and Viewing" offers support for unzipping these files and placing them as you wish in the folder application. The application supports the following extensions: for text (txt, PDF), for audio (mp3, aac), for video (mov, mp4, and m4v), office (doc, spreadsheet, and power point presentations), and for images (bitmap images, png, jpg, and gif).
This application is great because it keeps away personal data, but also allows you to give your iPhone to other people, for a Google search, text call, or instant message. Just lock and hide the folder with all important data saved with this database software. All data will be stored in My Folders, allowing you to create as many sub folders as you might need. You can easily manage all the stored data by just browsing through it from your MacBook or computer. If you are planning to use this application as a transportation method, then you are in luck. You can easily connect and transfer the data stored in My Folders to any computer or MacBook, and for that matter of fact you can even transfer the data to another iPhone by just connecting the two iPhones via Bluetooth.

However, you can't save email attachments of any sorts. It will just not work, not in this version and not in any other upgrades. Therefore, if you are looking for a safe way (and not irritating like the whole password iPhone protect) to keep your personal data away from other people, without restricting their occasional access to basic phone functions, "Folders - Private File Storage and Viewing" is just the application you are looking for.
