The program, which was created by two university students in 1996 managed to became one of the most popular free image editing software in the world. The program is very complex; in fact, some even say that it is as complex as Photoshop.
The best part about the program is that even if it is so complex it can be used by many users because it has a very great learning tool which will guide you from the most basic tasks to the most difficult ones. The GIMP works without any difficulties even if it is volunteer-developed beta software program.
