How To Change Default Download Location in Firefox

I know the quick tip I have for you now may seem to be trivial, and if you think so, don't take it as a tip, but as a reminder. For example, every time I install Firefox on my computer or a foreign machine, I forget to change the download location, and the files are downloaded to the Desktop folder, until I remember to change this setting.

On the other hand, if you're a beginner, this is a good start in customizing this browser, so here we go... This is a pretty straightforward procedure, so everyone should be able to do it without encountering any problems.

- Open the Tools menu and left click Options.


- In the Main tab of the Options window, press the Browse button next to "Save files to", as you can see below.


- Once you have located your favorite downloads folder, you should also disable showing the download dialog each time you grab a file from the Web.


If you choose to disable the download dialog, you don't have to worry about not being able to check file download progress, because you can bring up the Downloads window by pressing Ctrl+J. This is it, and I really hope you'll find it useful. Good luck!
