I Can Haz More Fun

When it comes to internet based applications, we though we’ve seen it all. Yet somehow, the developers at GreenPixel have managed to amaze us once again with http://icanhaz.me. This website basically represents a new link which you can haz for your website.

Go to http://icanhaz.me, choose a keyword or key phrase (anything from “princess” to “ilovemountainclimbing”), choose the link of website for redirection and there you go. Think of this website as a different and revolutionary Google. The difference is that instead of going to the Google website and searching for something using a keyword or phrase, you have to type in http://icanhaz.me/ in the address bar of you internet browser, followed by the key word or phrase. If there is no website to which the keyword you typed in has been attributed, then you can get it for yourself. Choose the word; select the link to where people will be redirected and then use the Icanhaz link on forums, websites and social websites.

It may not be very easy to explain with words how much fun the application can be so why don’t you try it out for yourself. Try and see if http://icanhaz.me/sex or http://icanhaz.me/funny will lead to anything. This basically generates a funny URL for the website of your choice.  This way, you can post a new link to an old website and you have better chances of people clicking it because they have no idea where your icanhaz link will lead to. It’s a brilliant idea if you want to pull a prank on someone. Unfortunately, I’ve seen cases where the mad boyfriend wants to get even with the girl that cheated on him so they post different private pictures all over the internet. Time to get even with that “bad boy” and get your own icanhaz link like http://icanhaz.me/nerd or http://icanhaz.me/jerk and copy/paste that guy’s Facebook/Myspace or HI5 profile link. Isn’t revenge sweet?

Since this whole icanhaz thing is just at the beginning, I can’t wait to see what new keywords and website are going to pop up in the next few days. Your funny link will be yours for only 30 days and for the time being, it’s free. You can choose to be notified via e-mail 3 days before the link expired and if you are quick enough, you can choose the game keyword (and therefore generate the same link) again. So far, we’ve seen links to Youtube videos, some links that lead to different online stores, links for Facebook profiles, personal and professional blogs, different online radio stations and many more.

First it was Gifttreez, now you can haz it and I wonder what the guys at GreenPixel are going to come up with next. The funniest thing about http://icanhaz.me is that the keywords used often lead to websites that have absolutely no connection to the word. For instance, http://icanhaz.me/what is going to lead you to your Google home page and http://icanhaz.me/brain-back is going to reveal a picture of a football player who probably broke his nose because there is some blood on his face.

Hmm… I’m off to see what other funny keywords have already been taken.
