Microsoft Software

Everyone knows that Microsoft is the biggest and the best company in the world when it comes to software. It was founded by the famous Bill Gates when he was really young and its evolution has brought him on top of the wealthiest people on the planet. But we could spend years talking about Microsoft software, because that is what they do for a living for so many years and they do it so well, that they cover all the bases.



Practically there is no field of activity not to use one or more of Microsoft software packages and they seem to have an offer ready for anything you might think of. Basically Microsoft's most famous work is the Windows operating system series, starting with Windows 95 and finishing with Windows 7. Most part of the computers owned around the world use this operating system, so you can imagine just how global they are. And this is just the foundation for installing all the other software.

Computer world is  changing very fast and the software that was really cool yesterday must be already old news tomorrow. But I guess this is exactly the secret that keeps Microsoft software of any kind on top for so long: they know how to improve their software and release new improved versions at least every couple of years. Then not all the software can have the same impact on people or the same popularity and this again was the best feedback ever, so these guys knew how to read the signs and get the software that didn't stuck off the market.

I will have a look at the basic types of software released by Microsoft and not try to get into details. So here is an incomplete list of Microsoft applications, divided into main areas they were designed for. First there are the internet applications, more or less used by all the people, but some of which still very popular: Internet Explorer, Windows Mail, Windows Live, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Writer, Microsoft Messenger for Mac, Microsoft Silverlight, Microsoft Agent, Live Mesh.

Then there are the Office applications, very useful : Microsoft Works, Microsoft Office with its innumerable versions , for example for Core (Excel , Word, outlook, Powerpoint), Mac (Entourage and Microsoft Office 2008 for mac), others (Access, Infor pass, Publisher, Picture manager, Assistant, etc). Let's not forget the office web services like Microsoft Office Online or Office products for servers like Live Communications Server or Project Server.

Microsoft is always one step ahead of any other software company that is why they saw the opportunity of developing graphic software like AutoCollage 2008, Microsoft Expression Studio with its versions Web, Blend, Encoder and media. The utilities offered tried to cover as many bases as possible: Microsoft calculator, Paint, Notepad, Chart, Reader, Defender and so on.

Microsoft has released software for protecting your computer and removing the malware tools, business software, project management software and any kind of software you could possibly think of. They have even made some interesting games with nice graphics and the Encarta series that was really educative. Not to mention Windows media Player and all the other software used regularly now or in the past, as some of them have been discontinued. But one thing is for sure: you can always trust a Microsoft product to be high quality.
