Nero Software

Nero is known all over the world. it is enough to utter this word and people know exactly what you are talking about. And it is not the Roman Emperor Nero who burnt down Rome in the ancient times, although I bet this was the source of inspiration for the name of this software. And what name could be more appropriate for a software that is literally "burning CDs and DVDs than the name of the most famous arsonist in the entire history? But as famous as the emperor was in his time, nowadays this name is known as the best CD and DVD burning software. In fact I think it is one of the oldest software in this area, too. Anyway it managed to upgrade and improve permanently and today the name of this company is synonymous with high quality, respect and very good products. All these features allowed Nero software to always stay on top and be used by millions of people all over the world and at the same time to be rated as the most popular burning software. And these are not just vain words, it is the simple truth. Ok, I am not paid to hail them, so I will stop.

But let's talk a little bit about Nero software and all its features and versions.

Nero is not just a single software , but rather a software suite designed for Microsoft Windows. Its most important component is Nero Burning ROM and its latest version is Nero 9 reloaded. There are a lot of applications included in this suite among which Nero Start Smart. In fact this is the central hub for starting using the different application in the suite. In the latest two version however (Nero 8 and 9), Nero Start smart has the possibility to perform several simple operations like burning a CD without having to start any of the Nero applications. One of its very important applications is Nero express, a simpler version of Nero burning ROM that was designed for beginners. Another feature, Nero Cover designer, allows the user to design its own cover for the CD or DVD he burns  and print it in order to give it a personal touch. You also have the possibility to restrict access to this software application if you are a network administrator or if there are many people using your computer (Nero Burning Rights). There is also a very valuable feature called Nero Rescue Agent, that is able to restore and recover damaged files from scratched or almost unreadable devices or even to recover the files or data that were accidentally deleted. I think this is one of its most important features nowadays.

Except for the burning software, Nero has also some entertainment applications, such as a media player application or other applications allowing you to edit video, audio or photos. For example Nero wave editor is a performing audio tool capable of recording, trimmiming, filtering and mixing audio files. Nero photo Snap is used for editing photos. Nero image driver is no longer included in the package offered by Nero 9, which is a shame , because it was very useful (in my opinion) to create a virtual image of the CD or DVD you were about to burn.



The name of the latest version offered by Nero is different, according to the part of the world where it was released. For example its name is Nero 9 Ultra edition enhanced in the united States, whereas in the United kingdom and Australia its name was changed to Nero 9 Premium Reloaded. I guess it all has to do with the company's strategy and marketing. Whatever the name, we all know what this software does and that the main item in the package is Nero Burning ROM. Nero offers all the possible features you might ask from a burning software, and more than that I must add. This is stated because it gives you the possibility not just to edit audio and video files and burn them on optical support, but also can transform the files from one format into another. This is very important as technology has developed a lot lately and the preference of the users changed, too.  Young people love listening to music and watching video movies , but they do not use the same devices anymore, but prefer the most recent gadgets like PDA, Blackberry, mobile phone, iPod and so on. Once again Nero has showed a chameleon power to adapt to any change and developed a technology that is able to change the format of the files, for example convert some tracks from DVD or CD to MP3, Mp4, WMA, FLAC, OGG and many others.



I think that Nero burning software got to be so popular because it is so easy to use, but also provides all the necessary features to be able to obtain an accurate and high quality burning process. It supports both CDs and DVD format for burning and, as I mentioned before, used to let you save the file in an ISO format, that is a virtual version of the DVD, without having to actually burn it. All you have to do is open the Nero Start Smart, choose the files you want to burn in order to transfer the, from your hard drive on the optical support, then drag and drop whatever you chose for burning, check if the space from the support is enough and then start the actual burning. It couldn't be even simpler than that.

Whatever the purpose for which you use Nero software (burning CD or DVD, audio or video editing, photo editing), you will find it easy to use, with a very friendly and intuitive menu, giving you explicit and short explanations and directions. Nero Start Smart is a valuable guide for you, as it offers all the necessary information and the common tasks you can choose from. The more advanced tools are situated in the left corner in the low part of the screen. just choose from the list, click the tool and you can use it.



The whole package offer is quite exhaustive, so you would better use only those features you need, as your choice possibility is pretty large. it is also important to mention the fact that you can have easy access to help and support, both online via email, on on forums and the well-known FAQ sections. Anyway, I strongly recommend this burning software as I used it and am very satisfied with the results and possibility to use it without advanced knowledge.
