When it comes to burning DVDs and you didn’t have the time to go downtown and get yourself full-working licensed burning software, there are some other alternatives, given the fact that you probably have an internet connection up and going.
We’re going to look at some of these alternatives, in particular at those who are free of charge and available for download on the internet. And I’m not talking about pirated software. Be warned that such software was usually heavily tampered with and using it is a risk for you (legally) and for your PC (possible virus threats).
DeepBurner Free is a rather easy to use and understand free DVD burning software. Also, it can produce bootable CDs or DVDs. But if you want the full works of the software, you have to buy the Pro version (somewhere around 25$). Without it, you cannot create Video DVDs, burn photo albums, backup utilities or use disk-to-disk operations.
Final Burner Free is somewhat more complex if you look at the Pro edition as well. It’s as well very easy to use with a friendly interface and no adware or spyware guaranteed. Apart from DeepBurner Free, this software has also an option to rip audio CDs, an Autorun menu designer and can burn Video DVDs – all in the free version. The disadvantage with this one is that it doesn’t have an ISO support, or any virtual imaging service for that matter.

AVS Disc Creator is somewhat of a novelty among the free DVD burning software world. It is the first of its kind that supports totally free of charge data burning onto Blu-Ray Discs. Although rather rudimentary and limited on all the other aspects, this DVD/Blu-Ray free burning software surely gets a kick out of being among the few out there. It lacks other functions like ISO burning options but it makes up in the possibility of disc-to-disc copying and multiple language support. All in all, a stable and welcome addition to the freeware out there.
But, if you want stability, security and the basic stuff, there’s one free DVD burning software that delivers all that and it’s really the best way to go: Nero BurnLite 10. Users who have tried it rated it as simply the easiest, smartest and most practical solution to basic DVD burning issues. It’s easy to find, download and install and as well, easy to use. Nero has been on the software market for some time now and they have shown us that they truly pack stable applications, adware and spyware free. Of course, if you want the fully functional version, there’s some money you’d have to pull out of your pockets. But if you’re the average user of burning software, this is the thing you need for your basic operations that will also keep you on the safe side concerning the privacy and safety of your information.

The creators from Nero even had the installer tweaked, so it runs silently in the background while you watch a movie undisturbed. All in all, Nero BurnLite 10 is the perfect solution for any given situation that doesn’t require more then the standard operations of a simple DVD burning software. And the fact that the creators let us have it at no cost whatsoever is truly a thing we should be grateful for and, why not, even show them our gratefulness by buying their product sometime in the near future.
