Quick Site Access In Safari

Paving the way for the upcoming Safari review here, on SoftDistrict, I thought some tips and tricks would go just fine until then, and I will start by showing you how to quickly access your bookmarks in Safari. I will use the Windows version, since Safari's last version works simply great, and if you're using a Mac, my humble opinion is that Camino is a better browser. Anyway, let's get going, shall we?

First, let's add a new bookmark to the Bookmarks Bar, because those are the bookmarks ready to be accessed with the speed of light.

- Once the site you want to bookmark has loaded, press Ctrl+D, or open the Bookmarks menu and use the option there, as you can see in the screenshot below.

- Change the name of the new bookmark, if you want, and then press Add. Just be sure to add it to the Bookmarks Bar.

Adding the bookmark

Now, we have the bookmark where it should be. For quick access, we're going to use a keyboard shortcut, and to know what shortcut you should use, simply look at the image below.

Bookmarks Bar shortcuts

As you can see, this is the same as in Opera - Ctrl+1..9, and even the limit is the same, 9 sites available for quick access. If you send more sites to the Bookmarks Bar, only the first 9, from left to right, will be available via the keyboard.

That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this small Safari lesson, but stay tuned for more in the near future, and prepare for the review(subscribing to our news by email would be a good idea, if you missed that so far;)).
