RIAA Defeated!

If it weren't those P2P music downloads lawsuits, probably most of us wouldn't have any idea about what is RIAA and what it does. In fact, RIAA is widely known for watching your downloads, rather than trying to take care of the artists' rights. Even when I look at the snipped shown in Google for their page, I see "Trade group that claims to represent the US recording industry." So not even them can't be sure about what they DO? Great! Well, today, it may be the beginning of their end...

...because a federal court rejected one of RIAA's basic theories, passing a decision that could lead to the end of its litigation strategy, according to a copyright lawyer. Here's what the judge wrote:"Merely making an unauthorized copy of a copyrighted work available to the public does not violate a copyright holder's exclusive right of distribution."

This is it. The beginning of the end, as I said. I won't add anything else, because I am sure there's nothing more to say, at least now. I'll get back to the subject as soon as the effects of this decision will start appearing...
