SmartFTP Gets Updated

A few months have passed since I reviewed SmartFTP, a very good FTP client for the Windows platform, and it was a pleasure to see that its producer, SmartSoft Ltd., released a new build of this application today. Since the new major version number is still 2.5, I won't review the program again, but I have to tell you about the changes in this new build, because they are pretty solid, as you will see right away...

The version reviewed by me back in September was labeled as 2.5.1006.38, and the one available now on the official page is 2.5.1008.21, but this is not the most important part. What really matters is the fact that SmartFTP 2.5.1008.21 comes with some new features, like space calculation in Remote Browser, preview pane in Local Browser, Drop Folders, improved resume logic, as well as many bug fixes and some minor changes, including a new Welcome screen and a "Keep Alive" option in Favorites Settings: FTP - Transfer.

Pricing starts at $36.95 for a single user license including 1 year maintenance, with volume discounts available too. This is it for now, I am sure we'll see more interesting changes in the future, and maybe I'll give this program another chance to impress me when version 2.6 comes out...
