Software Development

On September 13, 2009, Concrete Software released "Unit Converter" application for iPod touch and iPhone running the 3rd generation of the operating system iPhone. Concrete software is a developer and seller of award winning, innovative mobile software. Their software supports a large range of mobile devices including mass market phones (Nokia, Apple, Sony Ericsson), BlackBerry devices, and Android based phones. Concrete Software was founded in 2003. Its headquarters are in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You can find the last version of "Unit Converter" (1.0.32) on App Store at a listing price of $0.99.

This application includes all the converter units on the same screen, by using graphics of pre installed applications on the iPhone. "Unit Converter" is the complete conversion tool with every units and categories you would probably need. Also this application will automatically download new current rates daily for its 75 different currencies. For this to happen, an internet connection is required. If you don't want to allow "Unit Converter" to access the internet, don't worry, the currency rates are updates weekly through the App Store. If you usually use just the temperature, speed and power currencies then easily reorder the categories and post the most used on the top.

If you are interested to convert other rates, then simply swipe form left to right and clear the conversation (you can also tap the text area). The "Unit Converter" has a history conversation. Therefore it can remember the last conversation completed within each category. Although on the App Store you can find the lite free version of "Unit Converter", the full version is much better. A feature that should be added in the next upgrade is probably a glossary of terms. By doing this everyone can understand all the currency abbreviations.

The content is impressive, while the output is instant. "Unit Converter" includes a complete list of units, within the following categories: angles, angular speed, area, blood sugar, currency, current, data, density, dynamic viscosity, electric potential, energy, force, fuel, frame rate, kinematic viscosity, length, moment, particles sizes, parts per million, power, pressure, speed, temperature, time, typography, torque, volume, volumetric flow and weight.
