SP3 doesn't mean they are changing the plan to pull back XP from retail outlets. After all, this doesn't mean they are going to take out support for XP at the same time.

I don't like Vista, but I can't say it's a complete mess. Just like XP, if you tune it right, you can get much more out of it than you get with the default settings. Anyway, I must agree that the new interface is a mess, at least for some of us - others think Vista looks great, so...

Well Nistor I dont find that Microsoft is going to get Xp absoluted from the market right now, the major reason for my point is because of the fact that Microsoft has recently came up with Xp service pack 3 and in no way they would make their business hampered for there, this release and along with that i also came along with news anything as Microsoft has extended their XP support upto 2011 or so which was to be there till 2008 July itself.. till the last moment.

Along with that Microsoft is also coming with Windows 7.. that gives me a quite strong point to keep my heads cool and stick to XP rather than wondering onto Vista.. which is a complete mess in itself..

Well, the context is that a lot of people want to have Windows XP available in the coming years too. After all, it's not necessarily about support for the OS, it's about being able to choose something else than Vista, especially when Windows XP is all that one would need...
